Blue Impulse

The composition is a study in colour, texture, and rhythm, centred around a central botanical form. The titular “impulse” manifests itself in an explosion of slender, radiant petals in saturated shades of cobalt, blue, and cyan, which shade each other, creating a three-dimensional effect and continuous movement. The heart of the flower is an organic, textured core in shades of ochre and yellow, providing a warm compositional accent.

The expressive dominant feature is balanced by a background on kraft paper, filled with a dense, intuitive meander of white lines and subtle dots. This vibrating, almost physically perceptible background creates an aura of pulsating air and highlights the energy emitted by the flower’s form. The work balances between precise illustration and expressive abstract drawing, exploring the relationship between the object and its surrounding space.
